March, 18th-24th 2018, 18th Primary School of Rhodes
For 1st Learning Teaching and Training Activity in Greece, all partners met in Greece.
On Sunday, 18th March of 2018, all partners arrived in Rhodes city,the largest of the twelve Dodecanese islands on the Aegean's eastern edge.Rhodes is well-preserved medieval city. After a long journey,all partners were welcomed and they rested in their hotel.
On Monday morning ,19th March, a bus took all the participants to the 18th Rhodes Primary School.All partners were welcomed by the school administrations and the teachers.School administrations made welcomed speech. They gave us information about the schedule and the importance of the project. Each participants divided into groups and visited classes in company with a teacher.Greek children of all classes arranged traditional folk dances and songs.
After the coffee break, ''Guessing game by the sea and through Greek Mythology '' is played by students of 3rd grade.Later, ''Guessing game by the sea'' an emotional game were played by the participants. All partners tasted the delicious meals prepared by the school parents.
In the evening ,all the partners went to the University of the Aegean and a workshop titled ''Get to know diversity" was done by the Assistant Professor, Asimina Tsimpidaki.Some university students and the participants collaborated by applying this workshop.The participants had fun and experiences
On Tuesday morning,20th March , ''The history of Rhodes '',a short film,was watched in 9D cinema of Rhodes."Throne of Helios"is a film lasting 18th century about the history of Rhodes' island.After that all groups visited the Art Museum in the Old town and played a game with the students.The following ,''A history Quest game'' was played in the streets of the Medieval town. A guided tour to the '' Palace of the Grand Master of Knights '' was done.During the history of the Rhodes,it played an achieve role in the defence of city.The Old town and the castle have been in the Unesco list.
On Wednesday, 21th March , bus took all the groups to Rodini Park.Presentation was done about environment and awareness by Environmental Education Centre of Rhodes .And then teachers and students went to the small forest of Rodini to observe nature.Students and teachers carried out some activities such as hearing,smelling and touching of nature.After the coffee break at school,the students played some kind of group games in the school garden.On afternoon,all groups visited the ancient stadium of Rhodes and the Acropolis of Rhodes.These places stil welcome to the local sportive games and musical events.
On Thursday, 22th March, a game, prepared by the international writers and the translators's centre of Rhodes ,was played by the 4th grade students. It was about myth and tales connected to Odyssey, the famous greek epic. .After coffee break time,a presentation about playing a game in Mathematics and discussing activities were carried out by Mrs. Chrsanthi Skoumpourd, Assistant Proffessor of the University of the Aegean.In the evening ,all partners had a short excursion to the new town and got information about the buildings and their history.
On Friday, 23th March ,the group were welcomed by traditional folk dances and songs prepared by the students.At the same time ,it is a national celebration of 25th March.After the coffee break ,each partner school presented their analizing of text bookaccording the games in them and final round of logo competition was held.The Lithuanian logo became the project logo.This logo will be used in project products and represent our project.After the coffee break, Lithuanian team gave information about the draft programme.And then,all partners played a game "How well do you know your partners' country ?" by using a web-2 tool , ''Kahoot".
In the afternoon,a bus took the groups to the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes and Aquarium. The Aquarium has been fashioned in the form of an underwater sea cave.In the evening,all partners were visited to the Hydrobiological Station of Rhodes and Aquarium All partners had a great time in the meal.
